Berlin

I have arrived in Berlin to search the Audre Lorde archives at the Free University. Dagmar Schultz, the director of the documentary, Audre Lorde -- the Berlin Years from 1984 to 1992, donated the material from the film to the University Archives.

The Free University of Berlin

In the future I will search Audre Lorde's archives at the Free University in Berlin, Germany where Lorde spent time between 1984 - 1992. The pictures are of a library at the university.

Spelman College

During my spring break in March 2013 I searched the Audre Lorde archival collection at Spelman College's Archives in Atlanta, Georgia.

Audre Lorde was a librarian?

The LGBTQ Student Organization in my department, the School of Library and Information Studies, at the University of Wisconsin - Madison asked me to present my preliminary research in November 2012.

The Lesbian Herstory Archives

During the fall 2012 I searched Audre Lorde's archives at the Lesbian Herstory Archives in Brooklyn.

Audre Lorde, Black Lesbian Feminist Mother Poet Warrior, was a Librarian

As an African American former librarian and current Library and Information Studies professor, I was excited to discover that Audre Lorde, a lesbian and gay rights, civil rights, and gay rights activist was a librarian. I wanted to know more about her life as a librarian and started a research project to understand why she became a librarian, why she left the field, and what if any impact it had on her later activism.
